The ASMC Education & Scholarship Committee is pleased to announce this year's two scholarship winners:

Ms. Rosemarie Hammond, of the Defense Finance and Accounting Service-Cleveland, is the winner of the $1,000 scholarship.

Ms. Victoria Nord, of the Defense Finance & Accounting Service-Cleveland, is the winner of the $500 scholarship.

In conjunction with Kearney & Company, these two scholarships were awarded to Cleveland Chapter members who are currently pursuing college degrees and demonstrated the potential for making a meaningful contribution to government service through ASMC. Applicants had to possess a minimum grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale, be an active member of the ASMC Cleveland Chapter and submit a 500-word, double-spaced essay based on the topic below.

What improvements are necessary to achieve peak performance in the financial management profession as resource use and accountability continue to be scrutinized? Describe how these proposed improvements could be implemented in your work area.

Congratulations to both of our awardees! Scholarships were presented at the annual ASMC/AGA Professional Development Conference on Tuesday, April 18, 2019, at the City Club of Cleveland.
