ASMC Membership Types
There are six ASMC membership classes:
1. Active Membership:
Persons who are or have been employed as professionals in the military comptrollership field within the Department of Defense or Coast Guard, and who, to remain in good standing, have paid the
appropriate dues and fees. The current fee is $40 for one year or $114 for three years. The membership fee is non-refundable and non-transferrable.
2. Associate Membership:
Persons who, though not qualified for Active or Life Membership, are employed in fields relating to military comptrollership and who to remain in good standing, have paid the appropriate dues and
fees. Associate membership is $40 annually.
3. Lifetime Membership:
ASMC Lifetime members are recognized in the Armed Forces Comptroller once a year for their long-time support of the society. There are two
categories of Lifetime membership with ASMC:
Lifetime Member (Non-dues paying – 30 years)
Any individual member achieving 30 (thirty) consecutive years of membership in ASMC qualifies for Lifetime (Non-dues Paying) membership, without
any other stipulations. Non-dues paying Lifetime members do not receive a print copy of the AFC journal but can access the online version at any time. This revised policy was approved by the
ASMC National Executive Committee (ASMC Board) in December 2016. Non-dues paying lifetime members also include members who are past National Presidents and who, to remain in good standing, have paid
the appropriate consecutive dues and fees.
Lifetime Member (Dues paying – 20 years)
Any individual member achieving 20 (twenty) consecutive years of membership in ASMC qualifies for Lifetime (Dues paying)
membership.
4. Retiree Membership
Retiree Membership recognizes those ASMC members who are are “fully retired” and not working in any other profession other than occasionally doing “volunteer” work. Unless requested by the Retiree
member, Retirees will remain dues paying members, in order to continue to receive a print copy of the AFC journal. (Retirees may request to be non-dues paying and receive online AFC access only.)
5. Corporate Membership is available for private sector companies interested in the military comptrollership field and have paid the appropriate fees. View pricing and benefits for corporate membership.
6. Honorary Membership:
May be conferred upon persons making significant contributions to military comptrollership who are not eligible for, or who would not otherwise be expected to join, one of the other classes of
membership. Honorary membership must be approved by the National Executive Committee, and has no fee.
